June 1998 - Hibiscus and Foxglove

It has been very hot recently with almost no rain, but the
hibiscus bushes still look good. The flower pictured was
on a bush that is exposed to the morning sun.

Hibiscus Flower. June 7, 1998.

We added a foxglove to the garden not by sowing seeds
but rather by setting out a specimen from a local nursery.
It began to flower in May and looked good for a time.
Now, some days after the photograph at right was taken,
the flower stalk is all shriveled up.
