May 1997 - Curcuma Ginger Lily and Dogwood

The ginger lily flowers that are coming out in the garden now can easily be seen, but it is expected that their traces will be lost in the growth of leaves at a later time. The flower shown below is not from the same curcuma ginger plant pictured in the September issue. Flowers from the latter ginger have a paler red color.
