January 1998 - Garden Scenes - Carolina Cherry Laurel Tree

This is a photograph of a cutting taken off our
oldest Carolina cherry laurel tree on
January 21, 1998.

When one is near the tree when it is in bloom,
one can hear a loud, steady hum from the
very large number of bees that are present.

The photograph on the right was taken
earlier this month and shows some unopened flowers
on the same tree.

Garden Diary, January 30, 1998: Flowers have recently appeared on the orchid tree and on the Walter viburnum.
