Welcome to our Web pages about gardening in Central Florida. We have a home in a town about 25 miles northwest of Orlando. Being relatively new to Florida, we are interested in finding out which of the more interesting flowering trees and other ornamental plants do well in this area. Our observations along with photographs taken in our garden are being presented in a series of monthly newsletters that started with the August 1996 issue. The camphor tree (<I>Cinnamomum camphora</I> ), a natural source of camphor, is native to the Far East. Our back-yard camphor tree in Florida provides a shady spot to relax and cool off. <BR>
