"Sydney isn't full, so let's stop the rot" by Michael Duffy. This article is about smart growth, not in Texas or Portland, Oregon, but rather in Sydney, Australia, where smart growth is called consolidation. The article is dated September 17, 2005. More recently on January 30, 2006, Michael Duffy conducted a very interesting interview of Robert Bruegmann, a professor of art history, architecture, and urban planning at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and the author of Sprawl: A Compact History. A transcript of the interview is accessible here. Still more recently on October 16, 2006, "Do we need public transport?" was the subject of an interview of Randal O'Toole and Alan Moran. The interviews were broadcasted over ABC Radio Australia.
